Wedded Bliss: CC Addicts Annonymous

I must say, I have been married a little over 3 weeks and I am loving it. Having a spouse provides you with some invaluable resources:

  • Live in best friend
  • Nonstop giver of entertainment
  • First rate confidant
  • Unlicensed psychiatrist
  • Lover
  • Sharer of chores
  • Personal chef
  • Provider of supplemental income

…….the list goes on and on. Don’t get me wrong, it is not ALL wedded bliss. Beyond the good, a spouse can also bring some negative aspects to the table. In my case, Joe is a Grade A enabler of the worst kind. He actively supports and participates in my candy corn habit!!!

I have read that candy corn is the most disliked of holiday treats, and to that I say it is the most underappreciated. There is nothing like the taste of pure sugar in your mouth in the shape of a sharks tooth, or even better, a pumpkin.

I could literally eat candy corn all day every day and not tire of it. The miserable task of putting our large bags of candy corn away would be easier if Joe wasn’t an addict right along with me.

Although most people seem to despise candy corn I can’t help but believe we were put together to expand each others waistlines and in turn single handedly keep the candy corn manufacturing plants open for business. You’re welcome employees.

The Honeymoon’s Over

3 weeks after my wedding I have come to the conclusion that I REALLY despise counting calories. For some reason before the “big day” I had no problem calculating my daily intake and restricting when I needed to, since then I have just lost my counting calorie mojo. I have decided to get back to what my beginning goal what…..eat healthy, be healthy…..simple as that. For me that means making sure I eat REAL food, workout (that means lifting Jill, get your lazy butt off the elliptical) regularly, and enjoying life (mental health is JUST as important as physical health to me).

As you may know, I pack my lunch for work 95% of the time. 1) It saves me money and 2) I like saving my eat out times for the weekend or just times with friends/family. A major downfall of packing my lunch is that I go through a lot of Tupperware. Not only is it a pain to clean, but when I leave it in the car over the weekend (or longer) and it grows mold on the inside I get in trouble with Joe :-( In an effort to cut down on my cleanup I found the perfect solution……The Bobble Lunchbox!

Bobble is a company that makes waterbottles with built in filters and at Target they sell a special lunchbox with separations and a mini water Bobble. The separations allow me to have a variety in my lunches without having so many containers. I am actually brining the Bobble separately because I need all the lunch space I can get, but I love the little “bobble”! Tomorrow is my first day trying out the new device and I have made up a nice little lunch if I do say so myself.

Chicken stripes, brown rice, carrots and hummus, and salad (dressing in another container)

NTS (Not too shabby......have you seen Cedar Rapids?! Because you should)

What do you bring your lunch in? Are you a slave to the Tupperware or have you found alternatives?
